The 8 educational scholarships are for graduating high school seniors entering college or vocational school, or current undergraduate students. Graduate students are not eligible. The applicant or their parent/guardian must be an NLI member to qualify. NLI employees, directors, and their families are not eligible to apply. The lineworker school scholarship is for someone enrolled or planning on enrolling in lineworker school. The Rural Gone Urban Foundation Scholarship is open to any U.S. rural female student, whether attending public, private, or homeschooling institutions, and who is pursuing post-secondary education through a traditional college or university, trade school, or professional training program. Whitefish Community Foundation ScholarshipsFive scholarships open to students who are or whose parents are employed by participating businesses in the Flathead Valley Region. Kiita Foundation Scholarship: The Kiita Foundation Scholarship Fund was established at Whitefish Community Foundation in 2023 to help a financially independent student earn a bachelor’s degree. Two scholarships of up to $10,000 are awarded annually to highly motivated students who cannot rely on family members to help pay for college expenses. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years and includes opportunities to participate in international service projects in Mexico. Applicants must be a graduating senior from a high school in Flathead County, Montana. Dorothy & Luther Campbell Scholarship: The Dorothy and Luther Campbell Scholarship Fund was established at Whitefish Community Foundation in 2022. One $2,500 scholarship is awarded annually to a student who is a graduate of high school in Flathead County, Montana or Lincoln County, Montana and intends to enroll in a post-secondary educational institution in the coming fall. Rise Scholarship Program: n 2015, using their own funds as well as a portion of those donated by guests through the Round It Up America program, GRG started a scholarship program administered by Whitefish Community Foundation. GRG – R.I.S.E. (Restaurant Industry Scholarship Endowment) will award five scholarships each year. Two (2) scholarships for $2,500 each will be awarded to current, eligible employees, or to children or legal dependents of current employees. Montana Coffee Traders: The Montana Coffee Traders Scholarship Fund was established at Whitefish Community Foundation in 2020. Two scholarships are awarded annually to college-bound students. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an eligible MCT employee or to a child or legal dependent of a current MCT employee. The second $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an eligible Flathead Valley resident. Jean Atkinson Driggers Scholarships: The Jean Atkinson Driggers Scholarship Fund was established at Whitefish Community Foundation in 2021. One $2,500 scholarship is awarded annually to a student who attended Olney-Bissell School and intends to enroll in a post-secondary educational institutional in the coming fall.

We offer more than $2 million each year in scholarships, affiliations, and grant programs for Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.
