Some scholarships require the applicant to demonstrate financial need; in order to qualify for need-based scholarships you will need to complete the FAFSA for the upcoming academic year.

Important Dates:
November 1 — Montana State University Billings General Application opens.

December 1 — Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) priority date.

February 1 — Priority date for most MSU Billings scholarships. Please refer to individual scholarships for the appropriate deadline.

September 30 — Montana State University Billings General Application closes.

Who is eligible for the Anidjar & Levine Scholarship?

Our $2,500 scholarship is available to students who meet the following criteria.

• Students currently enrolled in or formally accepted to an accredited U.S. community college, college, or university undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Applicants should have a history of serving their community in a volunteer role.
• Applicants must currently be in good academic standing and provide transcripts to support a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

How to Qualify

• Be a junior or senior in a Montana public, private, or charter high school. 

• Hold a leadership position for the entire school year, representing a constituency in any one of the following student government, civic, or educational organizations. Leadership roles are subject to verification and judgment of the state selection administrator.

  • Student body president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer

  • Class president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer

  • Student Council representative

  • National Honor Society officer

  • Student representative elected or appointed (by a panel, commission, or board) to a local, district, regional, or state-level civic, service, and/or educational organization

• Be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident at the time of application

• Be a Montana resident at the time of application

An applicant's high school principal must sign and verify the student’s application submission and nomination to the program.

Scholarship Criteria

We believe that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criterion for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason, we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded based on character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.

Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post-secondary educational facility.

You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

• The award is open to any student officially recognized as an undergraduate school-based health education major at an accredited college/university in the United States or a U.S. territory.
• To be eligible, the applicant must be currently enrolled full-time (12 hours) at a college or university for both the fall and spring semesters of the academic year during which the student is applying. The student must have sophomore, junior or senior status at the time of application.
• Applicants must have a minimum, current overall grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale at the SHAPE America application deadline.

The Elk's National Foundation Most Valuable Student scholarship is open to high school seniors who are:

• Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.
• Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks.
• High school graduates are not eligible to apply.
• Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are submitted; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.

• Demonstrate ambition and self-drive to be a force for good in your community by encouraging others to pursue higher education.
• Be willing to provide a release to publicize their identities and information about their achievements, along with photographs for use in program promotion and information.
• Have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
